An aggressive $22 million urban renewal district has been established to expand Bend’s already bustling historic downtown. The project provides additional parking, new building construction, and the renovation of existing historic structures. Beyond downtown, purposeful urban growth planning has produced dozens of successful shopping areas, business districts, and plenty of Bend real estate opportunities, including homes in the Old Mill District, housing on Bend’s Westside, and, most recently, in the neighborhoods of Bend’s Eastside (east of Hwy 97 and the new Bend Parkway).

Along with Bend’s newest residential developments and most affordable housing, the Eastside also boasts Bend, Oregon’s largest concentration of commercial and retail shopping centers, as well the regional health care complex that includes St. Charles Hospital, Bend Memorial Clinic, and numerous private practices. Bachelor's ten alpine lifts give skiers 3,683 acres of slopes to ski, with 1,600 acres groomed daily. Along with world-famous skiing, Mt. Bachelor boasts fantastic parks and pipes for snowboarders, making Mt. Bachelor one of Oregon's premier snowboarding areas. Cross country skiers enjoy 56 kilometers of trails and snowmobile enthusiasts have 560 miles of groomed trails to ride in the Deschutes National Forest, while snow tubing, snowshoeing and sled dog rides are also popular during the winter months. And don't forget, just down the road we have Mt. Hood and Hoodoo Resorts!
